While shooting for upcoming Punjabi film ‘Sardaarji’ at England’s Castle Craigdarroch, Diljit did not opt for body double
Imagine yourself hanging to a cliff 40 feet above the ground level. Nervous? Now imagine a young, beautiful, talented and a little ‘heavy’ actress also hanging on you! Shocked? This is no joke because our very own Diljit Dosanjh performed this scene himself while shooting for upcoming Punjabi rom-com ‘Sardaarji’ at England’s haunted Castle Craigdarroch. The Punjabi heartthrob actor did not opt for any body double while performing this shot which is a part of the film’s climax and lifted actress Mandy Takhar to complete the scene.
Diljit explained, “It was adventurous and dangerous too. I had to hang with a rope tied to the castle’s wall and Mandy is shown falling after me. I had to hold her hand and subsequently she had to climb up the rope starting through me. We were hanging 40 feet high above the ground level with all safety preparations down there. Mandy got really nervous when she got to know I am not using any stunt man for this scene.”
The director of the film Rohit Jugraj praised about Diljit’s adventurous spirit and told that it was too risky to shoot. He said, “I had double thoughts when the scene was being shot. I was concerned more about the actors’ safety than the perfection of the scene. But Diljit and Mandy did it so wonderfully and it came out well.”
‘Sardaarji’ is a romantic comedy which has been made under the banner of White Hill Production. The film has been produced by Gunbir Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu and also stars Neeru Bajwa, Mandy Takhar and Jaswinder Bhalla. It is slated to be released on 26th June.
