Punjabi music star Diljit Dosanjh continues to remain in the spotlight as his international tour faces mounting controversy linked to protest calls by pro-Khalistan groups.
The latest flashpoint emerged after Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a figure associated with Sikhs for Justice, released a video message indicating that demonstrations seen during recent concerts in Canada could soon be replicated at venues in the United States.
Dosanjh’s shows in Canada have already witnessed gatherings of protesters outside venues, some carrying flags and raising slogans. While the performances continued without major disruption, the singer briefly addressed the situation on stage, urging that the focus remain on music and unity.
In the widely circulated message, Pannun criticised Dosanjh’s public remarks and gestures, alleging they had offended certain sentiments. He also hinted at a possible escalation of protests as the tour moves forward, though no official confirmation of organised demonstrations has been made.
The developments have triggered strong reactions online, with fans expressing support for the artist and calling for a safe environment at his events. Others have raised concerns about the growing politicisation of entertainment spaces.
So far, Dosanjh has not formally responded to the latest comments. However, sources indicate that event organisers and local authorities are likely to reassess security protocols for upcoming concerts to prevent any untoward incidents.
As the “Aura 2026” tour continues across international destinations, the unfolding situation reflects the challenges artists may face when cultural expression intersects with political sensitivities on a global stage.
