New Delhi: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has continued to promote his October 30 concert in Delhi on social media, even as uncertainty surrounds the event following the Delhi Police’s reported refusal to grant permission on security grounds.
Diljit recently shared a promotional reel posted by Team Dosanjh on his Instagram Stories, featuring his scheduled performance at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The singer added the message “7 days to go”, keeping the concert in the spotlight despite questions over whether it can proceed as planned.
The accompanying caption read, “Khaasa Zor Lagju Mitaun Vaaste 30 October Delhi.”
However, neither the social media post nor the countdown amounts to official confirmation that the concert will take place. Fans are still waiting for clarity on the event’s status.
Security Concerns Put Concert in Doubt
According to reports, Delhi Police withheld permission for the show citing security-related concerns, including specific threat inputs and the demands on police personnel during the festive season.
The reported decision has cast uncertainty over the Delhi leg of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour, which was scheduled to begin at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30.
The situation has left concertgoers looking for an official announcement from the organisers or the authorities regarding the next steps.
Why Was the Concert Date Changed?
The Delhi concert was initially scheduled for November 1 but was subsequently moved to October 30. The change followed an appeal to respect the sentiments of families affected by the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
The revised date was intended to address those concerns, but the reported denial of police permission has now raised fresh questions about the event.
Other Cities on Diljit’s Tour Schedule
Beyond Delhi, Dosanjh is scheduled to perform in several Indian cities during November and December, including Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Lucknow. A Chandigarh concert has also been announced, although its date has not yet been disclosed in the information available.
For now, the Delhi show remains the immediate focus for fans, many of whom are awaiting an official update on whether the performance will go ahead, be rescheduled or face further changes.
Until the organisers or the relevant authorities issue a clear statement, the singer’s continued promotion of the event should not be taken as confirmation that permission has been secured.
