Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh treated fans to a humorous and mouthwatering display of desi home remedies for a runny nose during a solo trip, the location of which he has kept private. Posting on Instagram Stories, Diljit combined his love for cooking with his signature wit, giving followers a peek into his personal cold-fighting routine.

“Mainu hawa lag gai ae, matlab zukaam ho gaya hai,” Diljit quipped, explaining he had caught a cold while traveling alone. True to his playful style, he then showcased his homemade fixes for congestion and a runny nose, turning the stories into both a food diary and comedy sketch.

He started by showing besan chilla with sunka sizzling on the stove, joking: “Pehla chilla thoda jeya mota baneya hai, par swaad bot aa. Ikk taan main khade khade kha geya!” He emphasized that these remedies, while simple, were his go-to cure for a cold.

In addition to besan chilla, Diljit demonstrated two other traditional remedies:

  • Khus khus mix: A blend of poppy seeds, desiccated coconut, jaggery, and ghee, which he humorously warned to consume in moderation to avoid digestive trouble.

  • Sunka (besan doodh): A comforting drink made with chickpea flour, milk, ghee, and sugar.

Adding a personal twist, he shared his struggle of sourcing besan abroad. “I first found out it’s called chickpea flour, but couldn’t locate it in the market. Later, I learnt it’s also known as garbanzo flour,” he said with a laugh.

Diljit even highlighted the simultaneous cleaning of utensils during his cooking spree, keeping the session light-hearted and relatable. Wrapping up, he gave fans a final tip: “Mooh lappet ke so jo,” suggesting rest is the ultimate remedy.

With his mix of humour, culinary skill, and traditional home remedies, Diljit’s Instagram stories have inspired fans to try simple desi nuskaas while brightening the mood during the chilly winter months.
