Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has firmly dismissed growing speculation about a possible political entry, stating that his focus remains entirely on entertaining people through music and cinema.

The popular artist responded after reports surfaced suggesting he may be preparing for a political role in Punjab following public appeals from social groups encouraging him to enter active politics.

In a short social media reaction, Diljit made his stand clear, saying he has no interest in politics and is completely satisfied with the entertainment field, which he described as his true calling.

The rumours gained traction after Jaago Punjab Manch, a platform of civil society representatives and retired defence officials, published an open appeal urging him to step into politics and contribute to Punjab’s future leadership.

The group projected him as a fresh face who could inspire change, but Diljit’s prompt response left little room for further speculation.

The singer has recently remained in headlines due to his international Aura 2026 concert tour and the controversy surrounding protests by pro-Khalistan groups during his performances in Canada.

A video from one of his recent concerts in Calgary has been widely shared online, showing Diljit speaking openly about facing criticism from different sides.

Addressing fans during the show, he said he is often labelled differently depending on where he is — with some in India branding him a Khalistani, while certain overseas groups accuse him of being too closely aligned with India.

Despite the criticism, Diljit said he remains confident in his choices and believes he is following the right path.

The tension escalated after he reportedly objected to a few protesters waving Khalistan flags during his Calgary concert earlier this month.

However, similar attempts to protest at later performances, including his Winnipeg show, reportedly drew minimal support and failed to disrupt the events.

As his world tour continues to attract packed audiences across North America, Diljit has made it clear that his future lies in performance and creativity, not political ambition.
