Punjabi music star Diljit Dosanjh is set to release a new international collaboration titled “Ranjha,” created alongside global pop singer Sia and renowned EDM producer David Guetta. The track marks a cross-genre partnership bringing together Punjabi music, pop, and electronic dance elements.
An early preview of the song was played on Tuesday, March 10, for students at Toronto Metropolitan University. The snippet was shared during a university course focused on the global influence of Diljit Dosanjh, giving attendees a first listen before the song’s official release scheduled for March 13.
Students were reportedly surprised when the unreleased track was played during the class session. Many had been studying Dosanjh’s career and cultural impact throughout the semester, making the preview an unexpected highlight of the course.
According to guest lecturer Richard Trapunski, who is also the national editor at Billboard Canada, the moment was especially significant because the class is believed to be the first academic course dedicated entirely to a Punjabi artist.
The collaboration brings together artists from different parts of the global music industry. Dosanjh has built a strong international following through Punjabi music and film, while Sia and Guetta are widely recognized for shaping global pop and electronic dance music over the past two decades.
