Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has released a heartfelt video message, appealing for solidarity and support for the people of Punjab as devastating floods continue to wreak havoc across the state.
Switching to Hindi in his address to ensure his message reaches a wider audience, Dosanjh described the grim reality in flood-hit regions: “Homes have been washed away, fields have been destroyed, cattle and livestock have perished — people’s lives have been shaken.” Despite the scale of destruction, he reassured citizens that Punjab’s resilience remains unbroken.
“Punjab is wounded, but it has not lost hope. We rose from its lap, and one day we shall return to it,” he said, urging affected families to remain strong. He emphasized that support should not end with temporary rations, but continue until lives are fully rebuilt.
Dosanjh also lauded NGOs, local media, and the youth of Punjab for stepping forward in relief efforts, calling their service on the ground “commendable.” He assured that his own resources, along with those of corporate partners connected to him, are already being mobilized to provide long-term assistance.
Reflecting on Punjab’s history of enduring hardships, the singer-actor said: “It feels as if our most cherished things have been tested again and again, but we have always emerged stronger. With Waheguru’s blessings, we will overcome this too.”
Dosanjh’s call has been widely welcomed on social media, where fans and community leaders echoed his sentiment and urged others to come forward with donations and on-ground support.
