Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has issued a strong message to those planning protests at his live shows, making it clear that any attempt to create disturbance during his performances will not be tolerated.
Referring to past incidents such as disruptions during his Surrey concert, the artist said he would take a firm stand to ensure that future events proceed without chaos. He asserted that maintaining order at his shows is a priority and warned that anyone trying to create unrest would face strict action.
Addressing criticism directed at him, Diljit highlighted his consistent support for Punjab and its people. He pointed out his involvement during key moments, including speaking up during the farmers’ protests, contributing during flood relief efforts, and raising awareness about historical events like the Komagata Maru incident on international platforms such as The Tonight Show. He also noted that he has repeatedly brought attention to Punjab-related concerns in Indian media.
The singer emphasised that his contributions are driven by personal commitment rather than obligation. “Helping is not a duty—it comes from love for one’s land and people,” he said, adding that he does not feel compelled to justify his actions to critics.
Responding to ongoing protests linked to his media appearances, Diljit maintained a defiant tone, stating that such reactions do not concern him and would not affect his work or performances.
His remarks come amid continued debates among sections of the public regarding artists’ public statements and their perceived positions on regional and national issues.
