New Delhi: Singer Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming concert in the national capital has received permission to proceed after Delhi Police reviewed the event’s security arrangements, putting an end to speculation that the show had been cancelled.
The concert, part of Dosanjh’s AURA India Tour, is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on October 30. According to officials who spoke to ANI, the clearance was granted after several rounds of discussions between the police and the event organisers.
During these meetings, organisers presented a detailed plan addressing concerns related to public safety, traffic regulation and crowd management. Delhi Police had earlier asked BookMyShow Live, which is organising the event, to strengthen these arrangements in view of the festive season and the additional precautions required during this period.
In a statement, the BookMyShow team clarified that the concert had not been cancelled. The permission had been temporarily withheld while the necessary safety measures were reviewed, the organisers said.
The company added that its representatives held a constructive meeting with Delhi Police and assured the authorities that all prescribed security and traffic requirements would be followed.
Following the submission of the revised plans and the assurances provided by the organisers, the police reconsidered the matter and granted permission for the event.
The development comes amid reports circulating about the concert’s possible cancellation. The organisers’ clarification establishes that the earlier hold on permission should not be interpreted as a cancellation.
BookMyShow Live said it would work closely with Delhi Police to ensure a smooth experience for concertgoers while minimising inconvenience to residents and commuters in the surrounding areas.
With the necessary clearance now in place, preparations for the October 30 show can continue, subject to compliance with the stipulated safety and traffic arrangements.
