In a newly shared BTS video, the Punjabi superstar humorously blamed none other than Shakira for a delay, revealing her outfit malfunction was the cause.
The video opens with Diljit meeting celebrated Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung, who crafted his ensemble for the evening. Diljit beams with excitement as he unveils his cape, which features Punjabi letters, a cultural touch that became the signature highlight of his look.
Praising Diljit, Prabal shared, “He’s one of the most influential Indian artists who has managed to break into the global scene while staying authentic to his roots. Everyone, even in the West, loves him.”
Diljit confidently chimed in, “Our outfit is going to stand out,” before the clip cuts to him training at the gym, flashing the time “11:11” on his phone—a personal lucky sign, perhaps.
The footage also captures Diljit entering a celebrity-packed prep area, where stars like Nicole Scherzinger and Tessa Thompson are getting ready. Nicole is seen complimenting Diljit’s attire, adding to the charm of the moment.
However, in a light-hearted moment, Diljit mentions that everyone’s schedule was thrown off due to Shakira. “They’re not taking us to the main area yet. Everything is happening backstage. I think we’re late because Shakira’s dress zipper broke. I had a feeling she’d delay us,” he jokes.
