In a surprising development, Diljit Dosanjh’s Satluj has been removed from ZEE5 in India within 48 hours after making its digital debut. The film, which had finally premiered on the streaming platform following a title change from Punjab ’95, is no longer available for Indian viewers.
The sudden removal has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many users claiming they were unable to access the film shortly after its release. Neither ZEE5 nor the makers have issued an official statement explaining why the title has been taken down from the platform in India.
Satluj is inspired by the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra and had remained one of the most talked-about Punjabi films in recent years due to prolonged delays surrounding its release. The project eventually premiered on ZEE5 under its new title after months of anticipation.
The unexpected withdrawal has once again raised questions among audiences, especially after the film had finally become available for streaming. Fans who had been eagerly waiting to watch the biographical drama expressed disappointment over its disappearance from the platform within 24 hours of its release.
As of now, there is no clarity on whether the removal is temporary or if the film will return to the platform after resolving any pending issues. Viewers and industry observers are awaiting an official clarification from ZEE5 or the film’s producers regarding the development.
