Following the massive box office success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, director Aditya Dhar has issued a strong public statement addressing the spread of manipulated content related to the film.
In his message, Dhar expressed heartfelt gratitude to audiences across India and overseas for their overwhelming support, acknowledging that the film’s reception has exceeded expectations. However, he also raised concerns about misleading visuals circulating online, which he said were created by altering official promotional material using artificial intelligence.
The filmmaker specifically pointed to a morphed image falsely portraying a character smoking while wearing a turban. Dhar clarified that such a depiction does not exist in the film or any officially released content, calling it a deliberate attempt to misrepresent the project and provoke controversy.
Emphasising his respect for the Sikh community, Dhar stated that every aspect of the film was crafted with sensitivity and responsibility. He rejected claims arising from doctored visuals, describing them as baseless and intended to create unnecessary unrest.
The director also urged viewers to rely only on verified sources and experience the film in its original form rather than being influenced by manipulated content circulating online. He warned that strict action would be taken against those responsible for spreading misinformation.
The statement comes at a time when Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to perform strongly in theatres, even as debates around digital manipulation and misinformation in entertainment gain wider attention.
