Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma celebrated Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas by visiting sacred Sikh shrines in Amritsar along with his mother. The cricketer offered prayers at the Golden Temple and Gurudwara Shaheedan Sahib, seeking divine blessings and praying for the welfare of humanity.
During his visit to Sri Harmandir Sahib, Abhishek participated in the religious observances and offered an ardas for 'Sarbat da Bhala'. The prayer reflects the Sikh principle of wishing peace, prosperity and well-being for everyone.
He subsequently visited Gurudwara Shaheedan Sahib with his mother, where the duo paid their respects and sought the Guru's blessings.
The visit coincided with elaborate celebrations at the Golden Temple, which was beautifully illuminated for the occasion. The holy city witnessed a significant influx of devotees, with people travelling from different parts of the country and abroad to mark the festival.
Abhishek's visit also highlighted his continued association with Amritsar, the city where he was born and raised. Known for his attacking style of batting, he has gone on to represent India at the international level while maintaining his connection with his hometown.
Rather than marking the festival through a public celebration, the cricketer chose to observe the occasion with his family at the religious sites, offering prayers for the well-being of all.
