Social media was abuzz this week after influencer and reality TV personality Elvish Yadav shared a photograph that appeared to hint at a major personal milestone. The image, posted on Instagram, showed him holding a woman’s hand, with a diamond ring prominently visible on her finger, instantly triggering engagement rumours.
Adding fuel to the speculation was the caption accompanying the post, in which Elvish wrote about giving love “another chance” and finding his heart. He also tagged actor Jiyaa Shankar in the picture. Jiyaa’s decision to reshare the post with a heart emoji led many fans to conclude that the two had taken their relationship to the next level.
However, industry sources have since dismissed the engagement chatter. According to a report by Etimes, Elvish Yadav and Jiyaa Shankar are neither engaged nor romantically involved. The viral post, the report claims, was part of a promotional exercise linked to an upcoming project they are collaborating on.
The duo is reportedly set to front the second season of the dating reality series Engaged: Roka Ya Dhoka. The show follows Gen-Z participants as they explore modern relationships and decide whether to move towards commitment or walk away. The debut season, which aired in 2025, was hosted by Harsh Gujral and Uorfi Javed, with Sifat Sehgal and Karan Raj emerging as winners.
Elvish and Jiyaa are no strangers to shared screen space, having appeared together on Bigg Boss OTT. While Jiyaa’s journey on the reality show was cut short, Elvish went on to clinch the title, significantly boosting his popularity.
Post his Bigg Boss OTT win, Elvish expanded his television presence by taking on the role of a gang leader in the latest season of MTV Roadies. He is also currently seen on the culinary-comedy show Laughter Chefs, hosted by Bharti Singh and Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi.
Jiyaa Shankar, on the other hand, is preparing for her next big-screen outing in the Tamil film Kadhal Reset Repeat, where she will be seen opposite actor Madumkesh.
For now, fans may have to wait for official announcements, as the much-discussed ring appears to be more about storytelling on screen than a real-life engagement.
