After spending six years in theatre, Gunit Cour has made it to the big screen with Punjabi movie Stupid 7. Gunit was interviewed by Punjabi Mania recently.

Q1.Tell us about your background?

I am a 16 years old girl, from New Delhi. I started my schooling in The Mother’s International School, New Delhi. Currently I am staying in Chandigarh and doing my class 10th from homeschooling. I’ve been doing theater since I was 10 years old. I formally started theater in 2011, from The National School of Drama, Delhi. My father, Dr. VS Gogia is working as a faculty in PGIMER Chandigarh and my mother, Canny Gogia, a personality development coach.

Q2. How did you got the break in Punjabi Film Industry?

My story was different, Pali sir (Director of S7) found me on Facebook. I made a small video clipping of myself on my blackberry and sent it to Pali Sir I was shortlisted for the role of Divya and after the Chandigarh auditions I was selected as Divya Aggarwal in Stupid 7.

Q3. Stupid 7 is your first movie, how was the feeling when you came in front of the camera for the first time?

A person who has been doing theater and then facing the camera was a completely new experience. I was a bit nervous for the first few days of shoot. Most of the times I looked into the camera during my shots. But the way Pali Sir and Amarjeet sir (AD of S7) polished me was commendable.

Q4. How was the experience of working with your co-stars?

I learnt a lot from my co-stars, the experience was more of a learning than working. All of them supported me a lot, Rajni Didi (My screen mom), Millind, Pukhraj, Karan, Sukhman, Saibi and Jasmeet. I bonded really well with everyone. Although all us were from different backgrounds but still we had a great chemistry with everyone on screen and off screen.

Q5. Any memories from the sets of the movie?

Every day on the shoot was a fresh start for me on the sets. Waking up in the morning and staying on sets the whole day. Every day was a new memory. But yes, since we all seven children were together, we use to create a notorious attitude during the shoot which really annoyed Pali Sir at times he use to get annoyed but sometimes it also made him laugh the glory out. The bonding we all created made us emotional after the final take of the shoot.

Q6. What are your future plans?

I look forward to do more films with selective roles and always continue my theater. I plan to do my graduation from Julliard, New York in the subject of performing arts
