The father of renowned Sufi duo the Nooran Sisters has been admitted to a private hospital in Jalandhar after his health worsened due to kidney-related complications.

Family members said his condition deteriorated suddenly, prompting immediate medical attention. He had earlier undergone a stent procedure and had been under observation since then. Speaking over the phone, Usman, husband of singer Jyoti Nooran, confirmed that his father-in-law was shifted to the hospital after his condition became unstable.

The sisters’ father, identified as Gulshan Mir, is reportedly diabetic. According to his younger daughter Ritu Nooran, doctors conducted detailed examinations following concerns about his kidney health. Medical tests revealed that one kidney had stopped functioning, while the other was operating at a severely reduced capacity.

Doctors have advised that a kidney transplant will likely be necessary. However, surgery cannot be scheduled immediately due to an infection in his abdomen, which must first be treated.

Ritu stated that both she and her mother are prepared to donate a kidney if they are found to be compatible. “We are ready to do whatever is required,” she said, adding that compatibility tests are yet to be carried out. Physicians have informed the family that a transplant can proceed only if a suitable match is confirmed after medical evaluation.

Singer Khan Saab also visited the hospital to express support for the family during the difficult time.

The Nooran Sisters, known for their powerful Sufi performances and international collaborations, have received messages of concern and prayers from fans across the country as their father remains under close medical supervision.
