Karan Aujla has packed AUJLA SZN 1 into 17 minutes, but he has not treated it like a minor release. The September 25 EP contains five songs, and Punjabi Mania’s release report says all five are being accompanied by music videos. Add a second instalment still to come, and this is less a quick stop between albums than the opening chapter of a deliberately extended campaign.
The arithmetic sharpens that contrast. Five tracks across 17 minutes produce an album-level average of 3.4 minutes per song. That figure is only a way to understand the EP’s compact scale—the individual tracks have their own runtimes—but it shows how little space Aujla and producer MXRCI need to establish the first half of the wider AUJLA SZN idea.
Five tracks, five separate visual moments
The track list moves through Ashke, Real Bad Man, Straight Up, Rap Killa featuring Azaad 4L, and Aujla Szn. Apple Music classifies the release as Hip-Hop/Rap and describes this first EP as the harder, rap-focused side of a two-part project. The compact running time keeps the musical entry point straightforward: listeners can take in the complete first chapter in less than 20 minutes.
The videos change the scale of the proposition. A one-video-per-song plan gives each track a separate visual moment instead of asking one lead single to represent the whole project. It also lets the campaign continue after the audio has been heard from beginning to end. That is a statement about the rollout’s structure, not its reception; views, demand and commercial performance will need their own evidence.
The campaign began before release day
Aujla introduced the visual world in New Delhi on September 22, three days before the EP arrived. The “Two EPs, One Room” installation at Select City Walk Mall in Saket divided the space between two forthcoming projects and displayed physical artwork while visitors heard unreleased snippets. Experiential designer and art director Aaquib Wani created the installation, turning the two-part format into something audiences could walk through before streaming it.
That Delhi event now reads as the first piece of a serial presentation. The room established two creative worlds; AUJLA SZN 1 supplies the first five songs; the accompanying videos give those songs individual lives; and the planned second EP holds back the other half of the concept.
For listeners, the most useful route is also the simplest: hear the five-song sequence as one compact unit, then use the videos as separate extensions rather than substitutes for it. The EP may finish in 17 minutes, but its design is built to keep AUJLA SZN moving well beyond a single play.
