Punjabi cinema is celebrating a proud moment as Godday Godday Chaa clinches the 71st National Award for Best Punjabi Film, a prestigious honour that highlights the film’s heartfelt storytelling, cultural relevance, and emotional resonance.
Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and written by Jagdeep Sidhu, Godday Godday Chaa struck a deep chord with audiences through its warm, humorous, and thought-provoking portrayal of Punjabi women reclaiming their space in age-old wedding traditions. A beautiful blend of tradition, resilience, and celebration, the film resonated across generations and geographies.
The cast — Sonam Bajwa, Tania, Gitaj Bindrakhia, and Gurjazz — delivered powerful and endearing performances, making the film a standout gem in Punjabi cinema.
But the journey doesn’t end here.
This Diwali, they’re back — louder, grander, and even more unforgettable.
Yes, #GoddayGoddayChaa2 is on its way — ready to light up cinema halls this festive season with a vibrant new chapter. While bringing in a fresh narrative, the sequel retains the same soul and spirit that made the original so beloved — filled with laughter, emotion, and empowerment.
