Google Doodle tribute to Samuel Johnson, known as father of modern dictionary

Google has paid homage to Samuel Johnson, the British lexicographer considered father of modern dictionary by posting a Doodle on his 308th birthday. The Doodle shows image of Johnson and the dictionary.

Rated as the best among the earliest versions of dictionaries, the one brought out by him Johnson’s: A Dictionary of the English Language by him was brought out in 1755. It was the most authentic dictionary before till publication of Oxford English Dictionary in 1928.
