The incident occurred in Calgary’s Redstone Common neighbourhood, an area known for its sizable South Asian population.
According to information shared by sources, the singer had received threatening calls demanding a ransom of $500,000 (around ?4 crore). The caller reportedly claimed to be “Anda Batala” and warned of dire consequences if the money was not paid. When the demand went unmet, the threats escalated.
