The Winnipeg Jets are gearing up to celebrate their third annual South Asian Heritage Night on December 12, marking a significant moment of cultural representation in the National Hockey League (NHL). Adding to the evening’s excitement, renowned Punjabi singer Gursewak Mann is set to perform Canada’s national anthem, becoming the first Punjabi artist to sing "O Canada" at a major stadium in North America.
The event reflects the Jets’ ongoing commitment to inclusivity and cultural celebration, aiming to showcase the vibrant diversity within the hockey community. Last year, the team made NHL history by featuring a bilingual rendition of "O Canada" sung in both English and Punjabi—a first in the league's history.
Gursewak Mann, known for his soulful voice and contributions to Punjabi music, expressed his gratitude for the honor.
