Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has stepped in with significant aid for Baupur village, one of the worst-hit areas during the recent floods in Punjab.
Singh has contributed 11 rescue boats, three ambulances, and a financial grant of Rs 50 lakh, in addition to other essential supplies, to assist the people of Baupur as they begin rebuilding their lives. The boats are expected to aid in both immediate rescue operations and long-term preparedness, while the ambulances will strengthen healthcare access in the flood-ravaged region.
Residents and local leaders have welcomed the gesture, describing it as a lifeline at a time when several families are still reeling from the devastation. Singh, who has often voiced his solidarity with Punjab during crises, said his efforts are a small attempt to stand by the people in their hour of need.
