A fun and candid moment from India’s 2025 Champions Trophy celebrations recently came to light, showing the lighter side of former captain Virat Kohli. Young Indian pacer Harshit Rana recalled how Kohli’s quick wit instantly eased his nerves during a first-time meeting with Anushka Sharma.
Speaking to Men’s XP, Harshit described entering the dressing room after a match and addressing Anushka respectfully as “ma’am.” Kohli, known for his playful nature, immediately intervened.
“He told me, ‘Tu ma’am kyu bol raha hai inko? Bhabhi bol inko,’” Harshit shared, laughing at the memory.
The humor didn’t stop there. When Harshit explained it was his first time meeting her, Kohli jokingly reminded Anushka that he had just poured champagne on Harshit moments earlier and now the player was addressing her formally.
Harshit summed up the interaction by saying, “He likes to joke a lot,” offering fans a glimpse of the former captain’s jovial personality off the cricket field.
