Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted permission for Diljit Dosanjh’s much-anticipated concert, set to take place in Chandigarh, but with stringent conditions aimed at ensuring public safety and minimizing disturbances. The court has directed the Chandigarh administration to implement measures for efficient traffic management and ensure the overall safety of the attendees.
The ruling also includes strict guidelines to control noise levels during the event. The sound at the concert should not exceed 75 decibels at the boundary of the venue. If these noise limits are violated, the court has stated that legal action will be taken. The decision aligns with the city's regulations on sound pollution, ensuring that the concert does not cause undue disturbance to the local community.
In addition to noise control, the concert must conclude by 10 pm, in adherence to rules that prohibit loudspeakers beyond this hour. This condition ensures the event does not infringe on the established noise curfew in the city.
As part of the order, the High Court has instructed that the Chandigarh administration submit a report by December 18, detailing how the regulations were enforced and whether all safety measures and traffic controls were properly implemented during the concert.
The court will revisit the case on December 18 to review the administration's compliance with the guidelines set forth for the event.
With these conditions in place, all eyes are now on the concert organizers and the Chandigarh authorities to ensure that the event proceeds without incident and adheres to all legal and environmental requirements.
