The long-running rivalry between Punjabi rap heavyweights Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah appears to have found a new chapter, this time with their respective ventures in the liquor business becoming part of the conversation.
Honey Singh has released “Casa Tupka Anthem”, a promotional track for his newly launched tequila brand. Soon after its release, sections of the song began drawing attention online, with listeners interpreting certain lines as a reference to Badshah and his vodka brand.
One of the lines being widely discussed asks, “Where did your vodka go? What happened—didn’t it sell?” The lyrics then move into a reference to putting someone on the payroll and paying them a salary. Social media users have linked the remarks to Badshah, although neither the rapper nor Honey Singh has explicitly confirmed that the lines are aimed at him.
Honey Singh’s Mexico connection to Casa Tupka
The track comes shortly after Honey Singh entered the tequila market with Casa Tupka. The singer launched the premium tequila brand on September 19, 2026, and has spoken about his involvement in the brand’s production process.
The project also took Honey Singh to Mexico, where he was involved in understanding the making and production of the tequila. The promotional song now appears to be another part of the brand's marketing campaign.
The song has quickly attracted attention on YouTube, crossing 21 million views within two days of its release, according to the figures cited in the report.
Badshah had entered the vodka business earlier
The online speculation has gained traction because Badshah also ventured into the alcoholic-beverage business before Honey Singh's tequila launch.
In November 2025, Badshah, in collaboration with Cartel Brothers, introduced Shelter 6, a premium vodka brand. The timing of Honey Singh's new venture and the references to vodka in his latest song have therefore led fans to connect the two developments.
However, there has been no public response from Badshah to the song or the claims surrounding its lyrics so far.
A rivalry that began with Mafia Mundeer
The latest controversy also brings back memories of the long-standing differences between the two rappers.
Honey Singh and Badshah were part of Mafia Mundeer, a rap collective that also featured artists such as Raftaar, Ikka and Lil Golu. Differences within the group eventually resulted in its breakup, with the fallout continuing to be discussed by both artists over the years.
One of the longstanding disputes involves “Brown Rang.” Badshah has previously claimed that he contributed to the song's lyrics, while Honey Singh has disputed the claim and maintained that the track was his creation.
Their differences resurfaced publicly on several occasions. Honey Singh has also spoken about the period when he stepped away from the music industry while dealing with bipolar disorder, alleging that Badshah made references to him and his illness during his absence. Badshah, meanwhile, has at times indicated that he wanted to put their differences behind them.
For now, the focus has shifted from their music history to their business ventures, with Casa Tupka and Shelter 6 becoming the latest points of comparison between the two rappers. Whether Badshah responds to the lyrics could determine if the latest episode remains a social-media debate or develops into another public exchange between the two artists.
