Chandigarh: Director Honey Trehan has issued a heartfelt message thanking audiences across the world for the overwhelming affection shown towards Satluj (Punjab '95) while politely requesting supporters not to collect or contribute money in the film's name.

The statement comes after reports of admirers, both in India and abroad, coming forward to help the film's makers recover financial losses following the movie's brief availability on streaming platforms. According to Trehan, the team received countless messages, phone calls and social media posts from people expressing solidarity and offering financial assistance.

He also acknowledged learning about donation boxes allegedly being placed at several gurdwaras by well-wishers hoping to support the producers. While deeply touched by the gesture, Trehan clarified that the team would not accept any financial contributions.

"The love and blessings we've received are more valuable than any donation," he conveyed, adding that the emotional support from audiences has already given the team everything they could have asked for.

Trehan said the film was created as a sincere tribute to the life and sacrifice of Jaswant Singh Khalra, and described the project as a humble effort to preserve an important chapter through cinema.
