‘DSP Dev’ will become actor Dev Kharoud’s fifth movie in the last calendar year. The number in itself signifies Kharoud’s significance in the Punjabi film industry lately. Having become the audiences’ favourite, Kharoud now has it in him to allure audiences to the cinema halls at will.
There is no denying to the fact that action has been a regular facet of Kharoud’s movies. Arguably the first non-singer actor to achieve such a loyal fan-following, Kharoud has earned it on the back of plummeting into the rare genre of acting in Punjabi cinema.

While Kharoud has excelled at the same, there have been talks of his recent movies appearing more like modified versions of what he has done in the past. With Kharoud set to exchange blows on-screen in DSP Dev on this Friday (July 5), the movie and Kharoud’s character have shown signs of contradistinction than what he has been doing of late.
DSP Dev is different from other Dev Kharoud movies
Playing the role of DSP Dev Shergill in the movie, DSP Dev will witness him as a police officer for the first time in his career. Having done characters which can be debated upon with respect to being white, black or grey, Kharoud will eventually be seen in first category in DSP Dev.
It is evident from the trailer that Kharoud will be seen as a corrupt officer initially but will sacrifice his greed due to the prevailing circumstances. His improved version will see his character in plain white without any shade, which will in a way be the first time for him in the last year or so.
Other than Kharoud, DSP Dev stars Manav Vij as the main antagonist. Apart from the duo, the movie stars Aman Dhaliwal, Girija Shankar, Shavinder Mahal, Nita Mohindra , Tarsem Paul, Lakha Lehri, Mahavir Bhullar, Sukhwinder Raj, Ram Aujla, Rajiv Rishi, Deep sehgal, Milanpreet kaur and Hashneen Chauhan.
