Diy Entertainment’s first venture Burrraahh is set to release this Friday. Haryanvi lad Ashish Dangi will be making his acting debut with this movie. Punjabi Mania interviewed Ashish recently.
Q: What is your role in Burrraahh?
A: I play a nerd boy in the movie, who is always busy with his books. No girl can attract him more than his books. And then one fine day he is chosen for the Bhangra Team. The story is full of fun, drama and emotions. Bhangra is the backbone of the movie. It revolves around Punjabi Culture.
Q: Can you please tell in brief about your background?
A: I was born and brought up in Rohtak, Haryana. I did my schooling from University Campus School. I did my post graduation from MDU, Rohtak. After that I went to Anupam Kher’s acting school ACTOR PREPARES, Chandigarh. And now from the last one year I am residing in Mumbai.
Q: You have worked with big names of Punjabi Cinema. How was the experience?
A: Honestly speaking initially, I was very quiet with them, as they are Stars in Punjab. But after 10-15 days things changed. They are like big brothers for me now. We had a lot of fun, been to Shimla, water parks and lots of fun in hotel after the shoot.
Yuvraj is a superb personality, a fun loving guy. And a master mind of all the pranks that used to happen on the sets. Harish being from Theatre told us lot about acting. Both are superb. I love them.
Q: Who is your idol?
A: Akshay Kumar is my idol. Words are less to describe a person of such caliber. He started his journey in Bollywood with no approach, without a single friend and today he is the highest paid actor. He is my real life's hero. The very thought of me becoming like him, is the source of my inspiration.
