Dev Kharoud on working with Manav Vij: During the trailer launch of the movie, Dev Kharoud and Manav Vij were vocal about several facets of 'DSP Dev'.
Seldom do you see two leading actors eulogizing each other in front of the media like Dev Kharoud and Manav Vij did during the trailer launch of their upcoming Punjabi movie titled 'DSP Dev'. While both of them praised each other in different ways, the urge of working with each other remained constant.
"I always wanted to work with him [Dev Kharoud]. He doesn't believe it but I really wanted to work with him. But I have told him that this is the [first and] last time that I am playing a villain opposite you as I don't want to get beaten every time," Vij said funnily about his co-actor.
During the course of his 15-year old acting career in the Punjabi film industry, Vij has donned many roles which have traversed across shades as well. Being asked about playing a villain, Vij admitted that the same being a challenge.
"I keep on experimenting with my roles. This role was a challenge for me because I am playing an outright villain for the first time. Otherwise I have played many grey shades. After 'Khido Khundi' (2018), I had thought of doing a negative role," Vij was quoted as saying.

Talking of Kharoud, it will be his third movie this year. Given his knack of delivering hit Punjabi movies at will in the recent years, there are no apprehensions with respect to DSP Dev receiving the same response from his loyal and soaring fan base.

"Even I wanted to work with Manav [Vij] bai because he is working so well in Bollywood. He is my favourite actor. I was awed by his work in 'Andhadhun'. He has played a brilliant role in the film [DSP Dev]. The presence of good actors in a movie always works in its favour. Co-actors like him help you to get rid of your fear," Kharoud said on working with Vij.
What makes Kharoud standout in the Punjabi industry is him dominating the box-office despite being a non-singer actor. There is no hiding to the fact that he has quashed the myth that non-singer actors can't reap fruits in the Punjabi industry.
"It is a very good thing for me that I get to play different roles. I receive many messages which state that I look much better on-screen in the negative shade. When we were shooting this movie, I knew that I was going to step into a different category," Kharoud answered on being asked about playing a police officer.
On the overall message in DSP Dev
Notwithstanding Kharoud doing roles in the grey shade, his movies generally end up giving a message or two to the viewers. Speaking on similar lines about DSP Dev, Kharoud opined that even this movie will make people a tad more mature before they leave the cinema halls.
"There's a dialogue in the trailer where the girl [Mehreen Pirzada] says that a dishonest person like you has no place in my home. It is a significant hint as far as the message is concerned. As a corrupt officer, you end up doing some deeds which affect the lives of other people in a bad way. There's also a great message on drugs," Kharoud added.
