Ikk Naam Da Elaan – ‘JORA’

Tomorrow, i.e., 01/09/2017, will mark the release of ‘Jora 10 Numbaria’ on the big screen. The movie is a directorial debut for Amardeep Singh Gill, who has earlier worked as a script writer in ‘Yoddha – The Warrior’ (2014), ‘Yaariyan’ (2008) and some other short movies. Gill, who penned down the lyrics of Hans Raj Hans’ prominent song, ‘Yeh Jo Sili Sili Aundi Hai Hawa’, has also written the the script of the movie.

Deep Sidhu, who kick-started his acting career with the portrayal of Jogi in Guddu Dhanoa’s ‘Ramta Jogi’ (2015), is playing the role of Jora in Jora 10 Numbaria. The movie also stars veteran Bollywood actor, Dharmendra, who will be seen as playing the role of a counsellor to Jora. Additionally,  it also has Kul Sidhu, Sardar Sohi, Hobby Dhaliwal, Mukul Dev, Ashish Duggal, Mahabir Bhuller, Yaad Grewal and Mukesh Tiwari in pivotal roles, all of whom are tried and tested names in the industry.

Apart from the trailer, which has impressed one and all, a star-studded cast has given more reasons for people to watch this movie. The movie will be released under the banner of Bathinde Wale Bai Films and is produced by Amandeep Singh Gill and Mandeep Singh Sidhu. Soni Singh is the cinematographer, whereas, the movie has been edited by Hardik Singh Reen. Salam Ansari is the Action Director of the movie. Gippy Grewal, Ninja and Labh Heera have given their voices to the songs in the movie.

The movie will showcase the inner political fights amongst the political parties, police and the underworld. In an interview, Sidhu admitted that the movie is made with respect to the system and the circumstances of an individual named Jora and his journey to become a gangster. A former practitioner of law, he feels that more than a criminal, the society, an as institution, is responsible for various crimes that happen around us.

By the look of it, the movie looks intense and a cult crime-thriller. Deep Sidhu is already gaining accolades as far as the tone of his voice is concerned. Whether he will be able to convert them into critical and commercial success of the movie? Only time will tell. It will receive stiff competition from Hindi movies like ‘Baadshaho’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’. We, at Punjabi Mania, would like to wish fine luck to the whole team of Jora 10 Numbaria.

So folks, do not wait, and hit the theatres this weekend to watch this eccentric Punjabi movie and tell us how you feel about it.
