In a musical crossover that took fans by surprise, global K-pop sensation Jackson Wang and Punjabi music superstar Diljit Dosanjh have come together for an electrifying new track titled "BUCK". But how did this East-meets-Punjab musical alliance begin? Turns out, it all started with a DM slide and a Coachella promise.
A Backstage Promise That Turned Real
The seeds of this high-octane collaboration were sown at Coachella 2023, where both artists performed. Backstage, amid a whirlwind of performances and star-studded chaos, the two artists had a brief but memorable exchange. “We promised each other a collab, but with our crazy schedules, I honestly didn’t expect it to happen,” said a source close to Diljit’s team.
But Jackson Wang had other plans.
“He Showed Me So Much Love”: Jackson Opens Up
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Jackson revealed that the collaboration was more than just a professional move, it was a gesture rooted in admiration. “The moment I saw him at Coachella, I knew I wanted to work with him,” Jackson said. “He showed me a lot of love. And one day, I just decided, let me hit him up.”
What followed was Jackson Wang sliding into Diljit’s DMs, with a simple yet powerful question: “Would you like to feature on my album?”
Diljit, known for his genre-bending musical style and global ambition, said yes, and "BUCK" was born.
