Satwant Kaur was also the grandmother of actor Pukhraj Bhalla, who has been active in Punjabi cinema and television. The family has been receiving condolences from across Punjab, with many artists remembering her as a pillar of strength behind one of the industry’s most influential performers.

Jaswinder Bhalla had passed away on August 22, 2025, after suffering a brain stroke. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mohali at the time. Born on May 4, 1960, in Doraha town of Ludhiana district, Bhalla carved a unique space for himself in Punjabi entertainment through sharp political satire and socially rooted humour.

He rose to prominence with the stage show “Chhankata 88,” which marked the beginning of a long and impactful career. Over the years, he became a household name through theatre, television, and cinema, making a successful transition to films with projects like “Dulla Bhatti.”
