2018 is definitely going to be a revolutionary year for Punjabi Cinema. This year Punjabi cinema will see a lot of experiments and filmmakers expanding their experience towards new genres. Among the many movies which will change the direction of Punjabi cinema this year is also the film Daana Paani.

Written by renowned Punjabi screenwriter Jass Grewal, the movie stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Simi Chahal in the lead roles. A periodic drama this movie has been directed by Taranvir Singh Jagpal. With the release of the poster earlier, the makers hinted that the movie was going to be about a soldier. The makers released the trailer of the film today with the media in Chandigarh and the movie seems more exciting.

Apparently, the story is set in the year 1962. Jimmy Sheirgill plays the role of Hav. Mehtaab Singh and Simi Chahal plays an oppressed village girl Basant Kaur. Fate takes a toll on their lives as they encounter each other. The story definitely sounds edging, it will be really enthralling to watch the trailer once it releases on YouTube. Produced by Nanokey studios’ Ranbir Singh Grewal, Jass Grewal and Gurpartap Singh Gill in association with G.K Entertainment Inc. and Cam art film the movie will hit the theaters on 4th May.
