Rajvir Jawanda discloses reason behind signing the movie: The lead duo of upcoming movie ‘Jind Jaan’ opened up on the same.
Darshan Bagga’s ‘Jind Jaan’ is all set to hit the silver screens on June 14. With the trailer of the movie released a couple of weeks ago, its lead pair in Rajvir Jawanda and Sara Sharmaa are currently occupied promoting the movie.
Jawanda, who had done a supporting role last year, will be seen joining the list of Punjabi singers-turned-lead actors. On the other than, Sharmaa will be seen making her debut in the Punjabi film industry. It is worth mentioning that she has worked in the South Indian industry before.
On being asked about her know-how of the Punjabi language, Sharmaa unveiled that belonging to Himachal Pradesh made her learn Punjabi from her younger days. She might be lacking the fluency but can speak the language very well.
“I know Punjabi. It’s not like I don’t know Punjabi. Since I have been living in Mumbai [and then South India] for quite sometime, I have learnt a lot of languages. Although I am from Himachal Pradesh, the first language [other than Hindi and English] which I learnt was Punjabi. When I’ll get my second movie and meet you again, [hopefully] I’ll be more fluent in Punjabi then,” Sharmaa was quoted as saying during an interview with Punjabi Mania.
Sara Sharmaa on competition in the film industry
Talking about the prevailing competition in both the South and Punjabi industry, Sharmaa laid emphasis on focussing on herself rather than concentrating on what others are going. “I believe you will find intense competition in whichever industry you go.
“I don’t believe in competing with others. You compete with yourself on a regular basis and this is where growth happens. What were you yesterday, what are you today and what will you be tomorrow helps you to grow. I believe in focusing on myself on concentrating on my own career,” Sharmaa said.

Jawanda, who has a couple of releases scheduled for this month, discussed why he chose Jind Jaan for his maiden lead role in the film industry. “This is a story about Ranjha and Juliet. I really liked the combination of an NRI girl and a Punjabi boy. The movie will see both of them travelling back and forth to Punjab which I found really interesting,” Jawanda added.
Other than Rajvir and Sara, Jind Jaan also stars some renowned names in Jaswinder Bhalla, Upasana Singh and Harby Sangha. Being asked about if the tried and tested chemistry of Jaswinder Bhalla and Upasana Singh will outdo his chemistry with Sharmaa, Jawanda was confident of the same not happening on the celluloid on this Friday.
“They are veteran actors. They have done a lot of films together. They are experienced. Both of them helped us a lot with respect to how to do a scene or how to say a dialogue. Upasana ji used to help Sara a lot with her dialogues. I agree that they are good actors but also believe that we have done better than them [laughs],” Jawanda concluded.
