The upcoming weekend is one of those few and far between weekends in the year when two Punjabi movies stand opposite each other ready to pin the other one down at the box-office. This Punjab derby will see Kavi Raz's 'Kande' and Nav Bajwa's 'Raduaa' lock horns against each other.

The trailer of the movie was released one and a half month ago on the official YouTube channel of Lokdhun Punjabi. At the time of writing this article, it has received over 2 million views on the same platform.

Kande will mark the debut of actor Preet Baath and actress Kamal Virk in the Punjabi film industry. It also stars Yograj Singh, Sunita Dhir, B.N. Sharma, Baaz, Jeet Rudka, Jobanpreet Singh, Gurpreet Bhangu, Simran Sehjpal, Arvinder Bhatti and Bittu Bajwa.

In an interview with Punjabi Mania, Preet Baath explained that the movie is relatable to the youth and the prevailing situations in Punjab. He said, "Kande is a movie which has several shades and all of them are connected to the roots of Punjab. Other than these shades, the movie also covers an infamous issue of drug abuse in the state. A sensitive topic such as this has been portrayed in a filmy way." Watch the full interview:

Despite covering an issue which needs to be told so that the people realise its detrimental effects to them and their family, the trailer of the movie leaves us with some question marks which will hopefully be answered upon watching the movie.

Kande. His presence is another reason to watch the movie for it will be enthralling to see his take on the drug abuse of Punjab. Baaz has penned down the story, screenplay, dialogues and the lyrics of the movie.

The movie has been produced by Rakesh Sharma under the banner of VRV Production. It has been co-produced by Amardeep Singh Kooner, Vishal Sharma, Gaurav Sharma, Akash Dhawan and Gaurav Sharma (Montu). Apart from Raduaa, Kande will receive stiff competition from Meghna Gulzar's 'Raazi' and Sudip Bandyopadhyay's 'Hope Aur Hum'.
