Punjabi industry along with its audience are welcoming new yet uncommon projects every day. Biographies and Autobiographies had always attracted the audience. Also, people gain knowledge about various uncommon chapters they did not witness but which played a significant role in the respective fields. Karam Batth Productions in association with Slay Records announces their upcoming film “Kaur Singh”. Based upon true story, Kaur Singh is a biography of former Indian heavyweight boxing champion from Punjab. Kaur Singh represented India in the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984. Also, he won three gold medals for senior national boxing championship, Asian boxing championship and Asian Games. His list of achievements had made everyone proud. In the year 1982, he received Arjuna Award by ministry of youth affairs and sports. Also, in the year 1983, he was honoured with Padma Shri award by Indian Government for outstanding contribution to Indian sports.
The film will be made under the banner of Karam Batth Productions in association with Slay Records. The film is penned down by Vikram Pradhan who himself will direct the film. Also, the music of the film is given by renown musician Jatinder Shah.
Addressing the media Karam Batth, (The Producer) of the filmsaid, “where every producer is now days focusing on comedy and entertainment, we are trying to do something different. The story of Kaur Singh took 37 years to get unfolded. Therefore, we had initiated this project without focusing on any profits. We want to encourage the youth who are distracted from their paths and let them witness the marvellous history of sports. It is our honour to have Mr Kaur Singh with us and his support had already boosted us to begin the shoot.”
Kaur Singh said, “definitely, I agree with Karam Batth. There are very less sports activity now days. Youth of Punjab has got into negative things and though we have every game in Punjab, but the entries had decreased in a large amount from past years. Therefore, I request everyone to watch this film. I promise that this film will encourage your soul with positive thoughts and confidence. Also, I am thankful to Karam Batth who showed keen interest and invested his time and money to make a biography on my life.”
Raj Kakra the renowned singer/lyricist/actor said, “It is my pleasure to be a part of such film. I have a huge interest in sports and sports personalities and the thought of working in a biography of a sportsman had already encouraged me to give my best as a performer.”
The film will feature Karam Batth as Kaur Singh. Along with him, Raj Kakra, Baninder, Bunny, Prabh Grewal, MalkitRauni, Gurpreet Bhangu, Seema Kaushal, Sukhi Chahal and Sukhbir Gill will be seen doing their significant characters in the film. The film will be produced by Karam Batth himself along with Gurlove Singh&Kanwarnihal Singh and Jia Thakkar as the co-producers of the film. The shooting of the film is starting tomorrow and the film will be released in the year 2020.
