Punjabi hitmaker Karan Aujla set a new benchmark for live music in India as he opened his much-anticipated P-POP CULTURE India Tour with a packed performance at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday night. The concert drew an estimated 72,000 attendees, marking one of the largest single-day music gatherings in the country and a landmark turnout for a Punjabi solo act.

The evening began with a high-voltage warm-up set by DJ Chetas, building anticipation before Aujla made a dramatic appearance on stage through a hydraulic lift. Throughout the night, he elevated the concert experience—quite literally—by gliding across the stadium on a zipline, ensuring fans in every corner of the arena felt part of the spectacle.

The stage design matched the scale of the crowd. A towering 50-foot main platform, an extended C-shaped secondary stage, massive LED screens reminiscent of IMAX displays, and synchronized drone sequences created an immersive visual feast. Pyrotechnics, vibrant props including oversized sunflowers, waving flags, flares, and a thunderous sound system added to the electrifying atmosphere.

Aujla delivered a carefully curated setlist that spanned his chart-topping catalog. From energetic anthems like “MF Gabhru,” “Boli,” and “52 Bars” to crowd favorites such as “Softly,” “Winning Speech,” and “Jee Ni Lagda,” the singer kept the audience on its feet. The grand finale featured explosive renditions of “Try Me,” “Daytona,” and “Gangsta,” closing the night on a euphoric note.

Addressing the sea of fans, Aujla described the evening as more than just a performance, calling it a shared celebration of music and identity. Thanking the Delhi crowd for their overwhelming response, he said the tour’s opening night signaled the start of a larger cultural movement he hopes to carry across the country.
