After more than two decades of celebrity conversations, candid confessions and controversies, Karan Johar is ready to bring ‘Koffee With Karan’ to an end. The filmmaker announced on Wednesday that the ninth season of his popular chat show will be its final chapter. The last season is scheduled to premiere on October 14 on JioHotstar.
The show first premiered in 2004 and has remained one of the most recognisable celebrity talk shows on Indian television and streaming platforms. Over the years, Karan has hosted 161 episodes featuring actors, filmmakers, musicians and other personalities from the entertainment industry.

Sharing an emotional video message, Karan went back to June 2004, recalling the moment he told his late father and producer Yash Johar that he wanted to host a chat show.
From its early television days to its streaming era, the filmmaker has seen the show evolve while welcoming an ever-changing mix of guests. Karan also reflected on the many relationships and phases he witnessed from the iconic Koffee couch, including celebrities who went from being friends and partners to exes and, in some cases, married couples.

While the makers have yet to officially reveal the complete guest line-up for the final season, reports have suggested that Salman Khan could be the first guest. However, there has been no official confirmation of the reported guest appearance so far.
