Ki Banu Punia Da: Jaswinder Bhalla and Babbal Rai to play lead in Smeep Kang's maiden web-series

Ki Banu Punia Da: The Punjabi entertainment industry has received yet another intriguing web-series comprising of leading names across divisions.

Having worked together in Ksshitij Chaudhary's 'Mr & Mrs 420' (2014) and Niharika Sahni's 'Oh My Pyo Ji' (2014), veteran actor Jaswinder Bhalla and singer-turned-actor Babbal Rai will reunite after seven years in upcoming web-series titled 'Ki Banu Punia Da'.

The development was made public after Bhalla and Rai took to their respective Instagram handles to upload photos. While Bhalla shared an announcement poster of the web-series, Rai posted two photos from the set.

At this point in time, the makers haven't disclosed the release date or the digital platform on which the web-series will be uploaded.

Ki Banu Punia Da will be Smeep Kang's first web-series

Ki Banu Punia Da will also witness illustrious director Smeep Kang making his debut in the digital space. Kang, who often plays cameo roles in his movies, will also be acting in the web-series alongside Arsh Kahlon.

Rajan Aggarwal, who has writing credits for many Hindi and Punjabi movies in the last decade or so, has written the script and screenplay of Ki Banu Punia Da which will be made under the banners of Prasen Films Pvt Ltd and Smeep Kang Productions.

 

It is worth mentioning that Ki Banu Punia Da will see Bhalla and Rai playing a father-son duo named Balwinder Singh Punia and Rajveer Punia respectively. Rai, who has also played a vital role in Pitaara Movies and Humble Motion Pictures web-series titled 'Zila Sangrur', now has a couple of unreleased digital projects in addition to two unreleased movies titled 'Posti' and 'Maa'.

Kang, on the other hand, has more than half-a-dozen unreleased movies under his belt which will start releasing once cinemas start operating on full capacity in Punjab.
