Punjabi Film Kirpaan got a cold reception on the first day of its release. The occupancy levels in the multiplexes were around 30-40 percent in Punjab.
The distributor Munish Sahni of Omjee Cineworld said that bad weather in many areas of Punjab played a spoilsport on Day one. “We are positive about the movie and expect a humongous response on Saturday and Sunday,” he added.
It is worth noting that last year’s superhit, Jatt and Juliet 2 had a drizzly first Friday. However the movie got a bumper opening irrespective of the weather.
