Navtej Sandhu is a popular name in the Punjabi film industry and is known for his ingenious direction of short films. The critically acclaimed director is all set to direct his first ever feature film titled ‘Jamraud- The Fort‘. Navtej has already featured his three movies at the Cannes Film Festival and has got global acclaim for his work in Bakaya and Gulabi Pagg. His upcoming film is based on the story Jamraud that has been written by renowned writer Waryam Singh Sandhu. Navtej Sandhu shared his excitement on social media by sharing a picture with the writer of the film.

The movie stars young and popular producer and actor Kuljinder Sidhu in the main lead. He has played main lead roles in movies like Sadda Haq and Yodhha and has also played character roles in Shareek and Dakuaan Da Munda. Other than this film, the actor will also play lead in two more films. The actor will also be seen in the film Mitti- Virasat Babbaraan Di which will be Hema Malini’s first Punjabi film as a producer.

Jamraud will be a Hindi feature film based on Punjabi culture, life and backdrop. The movie will also star renowned actors like Sardar Sohi, Ashish Duggal and Harwinder Bubbly in pivotal roles. The shooting of the film has started in Amritsar and the movie will be shot in Punjab and Canada.
