Following the tragic death of Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda in a road accident on October 8th in Pinjore, Haryana, his close friend and fellow singer Kulwinder Billa has stepped up to support Jawanda’s family by fulfilling commitments to scheduled performances.
On November 16th, Kulwinder Billa performed at a show in Panipat that was originally booked by Rajvir Jawanda. Demonstrating his solidarity, Billa has promised to establish an arena in Jawanda’s memory, similar to one owned by another popular singer, Rajvir. All proceeds from these tribute performances are being dedicated to Jawanda’s family.
Jawanda had approximately 52 shows lined up before his untimely demise. While some bookings were canceled by event organizers, many fellow artists have taken it upon themselves to honor his legacy by hosting these shows. Additionally, the trailer of Rajvir Jawanda’s upcoming film, Yamla, was released just three days after his passing, reflecting the community’s efforts to keep his memory alive.
Kulwinder Billa’s commitment not only highlights the deep bonds within the Punjabi music fraternity but also provides much-needed support to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
