The makers of Dhurandhar: The Revenge are facing legal trouble after a copyright suit was filed over the alleged unauthorised use of the song “Rang De Lal.”

According to sources, Trimurti Films has claimed ownership of the rights associated with the musical composition and sound recording of the track. The company has alleged that a version of the song, or one closely resembling it, was incorporated into the film without obtaining proper authorization.

In its legal plea, Trimurti Films has argued that such usage amounts to copyright infringement, including unauthorised reproduction and public communication of the work. The company has sought a court injunction to halt any further use of the song, along with financial compensation and other relief.

The complaint also highlights concerns over the film’s commercial gains through theatrical releases, streaming platforms, and promotional campaigns that allegedly feature the disputed track.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Released on March 19, the sequel has drawn significant attention not only for its box office performance but also for ongoing legal challenges.

The case is expected to add another layer of scrutiny to the film’s success, with further proceedings likely to determine the outcome of the dispute.
