Ludhiana-based Hindu organizations have lodged a complaint against popular Punjabi singer Babbu Maan, alleging that his performance at the Maa Chintpurni Festival in Una, Himachal Pradesh, hurt religious sentiments.
The groups claimed that during the November 15-16 event, Babbu Maan performed songs that promoted alcohol and weapons in front of the Jyoti brought from Mata Chintpurni, installed on the festival stage. They also alleged that the atmosphere lacked religious decorum, with women reportedly made to dance to inappropriate songs instead of devotional hymns.
Jai Maa Langar Seva Samiti and Dera Massa Bhai Padeen have urged authorities to take strict action against both the singer and the event organizers for allegedly disrespecting sacred traditions and public sentiment.
The complaint highlights concerns over maintaining religious sanctity at public gatherings and the need for performers to respect cultural and spiritual sensitivities during festivals. Authorities have yet to comment on the matter.
