The controversy comes amid the ongoing legal troubles between Sunanda Sharma and music producer Pinky Dhaliwal, making it another chapter in the highly publicized disputes within the Punjabi music industry.
According to Sangdil 47, Sunanda Sharma did not give him credit for the song 'Patake,' which he claims to have given her without any monetary agreement. He pointed out that despite her using the song, she has not acknowledged his contribution publicly. He also stated that Sunanda had previously claimed that she would still be a hit even if she wouldn't have sung the ‘Patake’ song.
Furthering his claims, Sangdil 47 alleged that Sunanda Sharma’s public statements about being poorly treated and exploited by Pinky Dhaliwal are inconsistent with her past actions. He mentioned that she stayed with Dhaliwal for 7-8 years, living comfortably and making positive statements about her association with him. Sangdil 47 questioned why Sunanda continued to work with them for so long if she was being exploited.
He also addressed the financial aspects of Sunanda Sharma’s career, pointing out that her current success and high-performance fees are the result of significant investments made by Pinky Dhaliwal in her career. According to Sangdil 47, the promotional activities, including Bollywood collaborations, high-budget music videos, and interviews on national television, contributed to her growth in the industry.
Sangdil 47 claims that all of these factors contradict Sunanda Sharma’s narrative of being exploited, suggesting instead that she has benefited greatly from the relationship.
The lyricist concluded his post by emphasizing that while Pinky Dhaliwal may have earned a lot from Sunanda’s career, substantial investments were also made to build her brand. He believes the final verdict on who is right or wrong should be left to the court.
