Parmish Verma: The multi-talented artist will be seen on the celluloid this Friday after more than two years.
Multi-talented artist Parmish Verma will return to the silver screens after more than two years in his imminent Punjabi movie titled 'Main Te Bapu'. Scheduled to release on April 22 after a more than three-month long delay due to the third wave of COVID-19 wave in India, Main Te Bapu will mark the first on-screen collaboration between Verma and father Dr. Satish Verma.
A theatre veteran, Dr. Satish Verma has admitted that the team (including Parmish) of Main Te Bapu didn't have to convince him with respect to doing the movie because the story in itself was pretty "convinving" for him to refuse.
The senior Verma, who claims himself to be a "Star Dad", also talked about how he didn't want to miss an opportunity of working with his son in a feature film.
Parmish, on the other hand, disclosed how his character in the movie has a lot of similarities with his real life. However, the same can't be said about Satish Verma as he is playing a strict father in the movie which is very contrary to his real-life nature.
Parmish Verma reveals how they decided to shoot Main Te Bapu during COVID-19 lockdown
Parmish further talked about how he and writer Jagdeep Warring had initially met for some other movie. While they had planned to shoot Main Te Bapu after that movie, COVID-19 restrictions forced them to change their mind.
"I had met Jagdeep [Warring] around two years ago. We started discussing many scripts whilst planning for some other movie and eventually ended up talking about Main Te Bapu. We couldn't shoot the [originally planned] movie because of COVID-19 restrictions as only a limited number of people were allowed on the sets [during the lockdown].
"Originally, we were scheduled to shoot Main Te Bapu after that movie but changed our minds as shooting Main Te Bapu was doable under restrictions. Subsequently, we narrated the story to dad and he liked it as well," Verma told Punjabi Mania in an interview.
Much like the trailer, Verma father-son duo were spotted sharing an adorable chemistry in the interview as well. Glimpses of the same in Main Te Bapu will aid in increasing the likeability of the movie releasing on this Friday.
Mostly known for writing dialogues in Punjabi movies, Main te Bapu will be Warring's first Punjabi feature film as a script writer. Meanwhile, it will be director Uday Partap Singh's second movie as a director.
