Manje Bistre 2 Review: Punjabi Mania presents before you the detailed review of recently released Punjabi movie titled ‘Manje Bistre 2’.

Synopsis
A paramount reason why Manje Bistre 2 stands out on the silver screen is because of it delivering what was promised. The fusion of comedy and Punjabi culture in Canada will not let you down throughout the 125-minute runtime. Also it is the 2nd Movie in the Very Successful Manje Bistre series which took the Box Office by Storm on the Release of the First Movie in 2017.
Manje Bistre 2 starts with Saadhu Singh (Karamjit Anmol) expressing desires of conducting his grandson Ganda Singh’s (Jaggi Singh) marriage in Punjab. Born and brought up in Surrey, Ganda wants his marriage to be conducted in Canada itself. Much like the son, his father Pichora Singh (Hobby Dhaliwal) also wants the same for his son and this is where the preparations for the grand wedding commences in Surrey. Sukhi (Gippy Grewal) enters the frame as Ganda’s cousin who has come from Punjab to attend the wedding.
Upon reaching Canada, Sukhi meets Raano (Simi Chahal) and falls for her instantly. With Raano assumed to be marrying Ganda, the narrative is taken forward in the form of a serious convolution. With jocularity as the focal point, Manje Bistre 2 invariably tickles the viewers’ more often than not.
Direction and Writing
While director Baljit Singh Deo stands tall with respect to making people laugh, focusing a bit too much on certain sequences and due to that a few punches fell flat at times but that immediately was followed with another power packed punch which picked up the Tempo. Directing a sequel of a blockbuster is no mean task and therefore, Deo has emerged out victorious in keeping up to the expectations.
Lead actor Gippy Grewal, who has written the script and screenplay of the movie as well, did a decent job in the former department but was found wanting in the latter but the short length of the movie was enough to keep the audiences entertained. Dialogues Penned by Naresh Kathooria were funny enough to keep the audiences entertaining enough for most part of the film.
Acting
The usually chirpy and hysterical Sukhi looked the way he did in the movie was primarily because of Grewal portraying same nuances in his previous characters before as well. There is no concealing to the fact that Grewal has once again yielded results on the big screen. Talking of Simi Chahal, not for a moment does she lets the viewers realize that she wasn’t a member of the first part. Adjusting well as Raano, Chahal let her craft take the centre stage. Her character what I felt was somewhat under utilised and there was some more potential in her character to be explored.
Karamjit Anmol, whose character of Saadhu Singh is inspired from Saadhu Halwaayi’s character in the first part continues to make people convulse with laughter in the movie. However, unrestrained emphasis on his character didn’t go unnoticed. Given the entourage of actors in the movie, not laying sole emphasis on everyone was bound to happen and it did.
That being said, the writer-director duo managed to yield out notable work from respective actors according to what was required in the movie. Supporting Actors Like Gurpreet Ghuggi, BN Sharma, Rana Ranbir, Hobby Dhaliwal, Raghveer Boli, Anita Devgan, Malkit Rauni, Gurpreet Bhangu, Rupinder Rupi, Sardar Sohi, Jaggi Singh & others. All Played their Parts well and with ease.
Music
Music is the highlight of Manje Bistre 2. With the title song leading the charts among all of the songs, the others also add their contribution to the film. Title song and ‘Zubaan’ playing in the background paves well for the movie. Having said that, at least one dream song could have been easily omitted from the movie for songs being added forcefully usually get caught. But what’s good was all the songs were good so that doesn’t matter at the end of the day in a film which is just 125 minutes long Comic Caper.
Final Verdict
Manje Bistre is an ideal fun ride filled enjoyment, gratification, and hilarity. It is an ideal family entertainer with some powerful performances, great concept, rib tickling dialogues and what else do you want. Grab your Manjas and Bistras and rush to the cinemas.
