In a heartfelt tribute to one of Punjab’s most beloved entertainers, a prominent intersection in Mohali has been dedicated to veteran comedian and actor Jaswinder Bhalla.
The newly named Dr. Jaswinder Bhalla Chowk, located in Sector 62 near key landmarks such as PUDA Bhawan and the Punjab School Education Board, was inaugurated in May 2026 to mark the late artist’s birth anniversary. The site, positioned opposite Mohali Walk Mall and close to major institutions, has quickly gained recognition among residents and admirers.
The dedication comes months after Bhalla’s passing in August 2025, celebrating his enduring influence on Punjabi cinema and comedy. Widely remembered for his iconic portrayal of “Advocate Dhillon” in the film Carry on Jatta, Bhalla’s performances continue to resonate with audiences across generations.
The chowk is being maintained with the support of the Dr. Jaswinder Singh Bhalla Foundation, ensuring that his legacy remains a visible and lasting part of the city’s cultural landscape. Locals say the tribute reflects the deep affection people continue to hold for the artist and his timeless work.
