The newly launched tracks, "0008", "Neal", and "Take Notes", form part of a new EP titled “Moose Print”, unveiled just hours after BBC World Service aired the second episode of its documentary The Killing Call, delving into Moosewala’s assassination and the surrounding investigations.
Moosewala was shot dead in a brutal attack in May 2022, sending shockwaves through the global Punjabi community and music fans alike. Yet even in death, his music has refused to fade. The release of these three tracks takes the number of posthumous releases to 11, a testament to how much unreleased material he had created and the deep efforts of his family and team to preserve his artistic legacy.
Speaking earlier in the week, Balkaur Singh, Moosewala’s father, had promised fans a special release on June 11. True to his word, the songs premiered on schedule and instantly went viral, each garnering hundreds of thousands of views within minutes and trending across platforms.
Fans have lauded the move as a beautiful way to keep the artist’s spirit alive, with comments pouring in from across continents. While Sidhu Moosewala’s physical presence is gone, his lyrics, messages, and musical influence remain immortal.
