As far as the youth was concerned in 2015, barring a few individuals, not many knew about the story of Sarpanch Rupinder Gandhi. When 'Rupinder Gandhi - The Gangster..?' hit the cinemas on September 11, 2015, not many people knew about the movie either. The movie released, the word of mouth spread and eventually people got to know about both the late individual and the movie.
Call it the brilliance of Rupinder Gandhi or the way in which he was projected on screen, he became an instant topic of discussion among the youth. A lot of credit also goes to direction of Tarn Mann, who made sure that the team stuck to the subject.
The success of Rupinder Gandhi - The Gangster..? generated the idea of the movies' sequel in the minds of the makers. After watching the trailer of the second part, there were reports of some people revolting against the release of this movie. Apparently, some individuals claimed that the way in which Gandhi is portrayed in the movie is totally opposite to what Gandhi was in real life. The individuals also threatened to knock the door of the court, if required.
'Rupinder Gandhi 2: The Robinhood' was originally scheduled to release on August 25. Because an important judicial decision, which had in it to cause a few disturbances, was bound to be announced on the same day in North India, the makers made a decision to postpone the release of the movie. As luck would have it, just like the first part, its sequel will also release during the second week of September.
The movie, this time, is directed by Avtar Singh, who had made his debut with 'Mitti Na Pharol Jogiya'. The movie has been made under the banner of Dreamreality Movies. Its producers are Daljeet Singh Bola and Ravneet Kaur Chahal with Gurmeet Singh Arora and Rajesh Arora acting as co-producers. Dev Kharoud, who had earlier impressed one and all with his role of Rupinder Gandhi is all set to take the centre stage this time as well. Along with him, Jagjeet Sandhu, Sukhdeep Sukh, Kajal Behal, Sanvi Dhiman, Lucky Dhaliwal, Navdeep Kaler, Karamjit Brar, Bunty Dhillon, Lally Pandher, Naginder Gakhar, Rupi Barnala, Simran Sehajpal, Jasmeet Chabbra, Sanjeev Rai and Tarsem Pal will be seen playing pivotal roles.
Having already passed through a controversy and a two-week delay, Rupinder Gandhi 2: The Robinhood has to pass through the ultimate test now, the test of expectations, the test of the audiences. We, at Punjabi Mania, would like to wish a lot of success to Dev Kharoud and the whole team of Rupinder Gandhi 2: The Robinhood.
